Chemical peeling
Chemical peeling is an effective procedure that uses chemical solutions to remove dead skin cells and supports skin regeneration, improving its appearance and texture.
Chemical peeling stimulates collagen synthesis by removing the keratinized layer of the skin, toning and rejuvenating the skin, thereby restoring a youthful and healthy appearance.
The term “chemical peeling” refers to the process of removing the skin’s upper layers and the skin’s subsequent physiological renewal, which is accelerated using selected chemical agents. This procedure is most commonly applied to the face but is also suitable for treating other body parts, such as the neck, hands, and décolletage.
Chemical peelings vary in intensity and are classified as deep, medium, and superficial. The dermatologist selects the depth of action based on the individual skin type and the desired result for each patient. Various acids are used for peeling, such as fruit acids (AHA), glycolic, lactic, and azelaic acids. This procedure is effective at any age and for all skin types, differing only in the concentration and type of acids used.
It is recommended to undergo 5–10 sessions with a frequency of 1–4 times per month to achieve optimal results.

How the treatment is performed
Chemical peeling can be performed using various acids, depending on the issues and condition of the skin, and is divided into three types:
- Superficial
- Medium
- Deep
At ALTOS clinic, we offer a wide selection of products containing different acids (glycolic, citric, almond, salicylic, lactic, kojic) in various concentrations.
The peel is selected by a specialist based on the client’s goals and individual skin characteristics, so a consultation with a specialist is always necessary before the procedure.
Chemical peeling is performed on cleansed skin, to which one or more layers of the product are applied. One layer of the peel remains on the skin for about 5 minutes, after which either another layer is applied or the peel is neutralized. After the procedure, a cream is used to hydrate and regenerate the skin.
Before the procedure
At least 2 weeks before the procedure, it is necessary to avoid visiting tanning beds, saunas, prolonged sun exposure, and using self-tanning creams.
In most cases, chemical peeling cannot be combined with other treatments, such as laser procedures, meaning it is essential to observe a time interval.
After the procedure
Depending on the intensity and depth of the chemical peeling used, the following may occur after the procedure:
- Mild redness
- Peeling
After the treatment, it is recommended to use moisturizing creams and ointments that protect against ultraviolet radiation.
The results of the chemical peeling are noticeable within 2–3 days after the procedure.
